二零零八上 之 考驾照篇

BC省七级驾照

从第一次开车到现在，一直都是我爸爸坐在旁边辅导我，从来没请过专业教练，省下不少钱。但因此也没能在考前得到路考重点的复习，结果第一次由于忽视了360度检查而未通过。三个星期后，同样是星期三下午，心情更加紧张，又碰上个没事儿找事儿的考官，再一次失败而归。缓缓心态，一个多月后，在一个星期五的早上，再次驾车出发，一路上十分顺利，不到半个小时就拿倒了期盼已久的新手驾照。

为了环保，更为了省钱，还是少开车为妙。

二零零八上 之 考试篇

在2008上半年经历了不少考试，下面一一做个介绍。（成绩嘛，报喜不报忧啦）

• SAT: 由于是美国的考试，许多内容在加拿大都没有学过，只好找时间自学。还好数理化算是我的强项，成绩不算太丢脸。(Math Level 2 – 800/800)
• TOEFL: 传说中很难的考试，实际感觉挺容易的。除了口语部分，其它的只要经过一定的准备，都会变得比较容易。(109/120 | Writing – 30/30)
• LPI: 第一次没太重视，轻松上阵，惨败而归；第二次专心致志，焦急查分，欢天喜地。感觉就是UBC赚钱的手段。(5/6)
• 省考: 英语不知为何出奇的难……物理倒还行。
• Euclid: 加拿大的一个数学竞赛。做的时候头都发晕了。其实并不算难，发挥得一般，但还领衔全校。
• BC Secondary School Math Contest: 犯下不少低级又致命的错误。
• AP Calculus: 正常发挥，从商场“借”来了个不错的计算器。

在中国身经百战，到加拿大能算上是个老兵。考试时并不紧张，紧张的是查分的时候。

下半年在UBC会遇上更多的考试，还是要靠努力才能成功！

Happy Birthday, China!

I’ve been wishing to watch the flag-raising ceremony in Tiananmen since when I was born. But I never got a chance to watch it because it requires me to get up way before dawn. I have tried once, but the sun was already up high when I was on my way When I’m back to Beijing next year, I’m not gonna miss it again.

While most people in China are enjoying their National Day long holiday, I know all of my friends in China are studying extremely hard for next year’s Gaokao . So good luck everyone.

Dream team coming to Beijing

The USA men’s basketball team has qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympic basketball games after a win in the semifinal of the FIBA Americas Championship. Team USA, along with Argentina, will compete for the gold medal in my lovely neighborhoods in Beijing – the Wukesong Indoor Stadium.

Team Canada will also have a chance to qualify in the Olympic qualifying games one month before the opening ceremony.

Mao’s calligraphy

I found this font of Mao Zedong’s calligraphy, and it’s pretty interesting. So I used it for the Olympic Games, take a look:

Baseball game in Wukesong

This baseball field used to be a big furniture market 10 years ago and an under-constructed site which I passed by everyday of my three years in middle school. And now, I can’t believe my eyes when I saw this picture. (though they do will turn it to a shopping mall after the games)

Beijing has changed so much since I moved to Vancouver, which coincidently is also preparing for an Olympic Games.
